From Visual Arts to Theatre, Conferences or Pop Up places, Culture whisper aims at giving the londoners: the best, the beautiful and the amazing ! Eleonore tells the story behind Culture Whisper…

Why did you decide to create Culture Whisper London?

Eleonore Dresch: As a working mother and a Londoner, I felt that it was really hard to stay on top of the amazing cultural selections that London has to offer. Too often I would read about a play, pop up dining evening or a concert in the papers only to realize that those shows had been sold out for ages! And I thought, wouldn’t it be wonderful to find out about those events when you can actually book them! And be given then a proper independently written preview.

What is the « plus » of Culture Whisper compare to other cultural magazine?

Eleonore Dresch: Culture Whisper tells you about what is coming up as opposed to what is happening now. It also alerts you to big essential shows as well as to small in-the-know events. We have a team of more than twenty contributors who are constantly on the look out for interesting things. And a clever algorithm suggests things to book just for you.

What are the specificities of London cultural scene compare to Paris or New York?

Eleonore Dresch: London is probably the cultural capital of the world. From visual arts to theatre, dance and gigs, the quantity and quality of the offering is simply unbelievable – which is why it is hard to keep track and curation is so important.  I think London is also unique when it comes to the variety of its inhabitants. The expatcommunity is extremely important and needs more guidance when it comes to booking an event.

Give us your tips for the coming months ?

Eleonore Dresch: For theatre I recommend you book the new West End production of Skylight, a David Hare play, which is to be directed by Stephen Daldry and will star Carey Mulligan and Bill Nighy. Needless to say many of us are very excited about this. The play opens in June. The Secret Cinema is organizing a screening of Grand Budapest Hotel, and tickets are selling like hotcakes. Secret Cinema is well known for organizing unique immersive experiences where you become part of the movie, so to speak. Screening starts in March. We’re also looking forward to the Michael Craig-Martin exhibition at the Alan Cristea Gallery. This conceptual artist will show his own work as well as his private collection, and the show opens on 28th March.

You also review restaurants and pop up places, what are your last picks?

Eleonore Dresch: I am quite intrigued by a dinner which will apparently educate guests about perfect etiquette, organized by the Radical Dining Society in an amazing flat near Piccadilly. The venue is normally kept secret until the last minute, but we have exclusive early bird information, available to readers when they subscribe to our Culture Whisper membership.
